What is the Atlanta DJ Collective?

The Atlanta DJ Collective is a group of Atlanta based DJs (and some extended family) that came together during the COVID-19 pandemic to unite under one banner to create a streaming platform to entertain the masses during a time when it was much needed. Since then, the ADJC has become a community that has seen the DJs grow to create and run their own channels, as well as the ADJC becoming the promotion team behind the long running Torch DNB.

What is the purpose of the Atlanta DJ Collective?

The Atlanta DJ Collective currently serves a few different purposes. We are a promotional tool that helps to inform our followers and subscribers of your stream. We also have a 24/7 live stream that showcases sets from Atlanta DJs.  Overall, we are here to help to spread the talents of the amazing DJs Atlanta is home to as far as we possibly can!

How do I become a part of the ADJC?

To be a part of the community, simply join in the chats during the many live streams our DJs broadcast. You can also come out to any of the live, in person events we are a part of.

If you are a streaming DJ, reach out to us via Facebook or Instagram. We will give you a link to our schedule so you can place your slot on the calendar. It is your responsibility to update your slot on the calendar so they schedule is accurate.

DJ/Streaming Questions

What do I need to stream?

To start streaming, you will need a PC or Mac, a camera, and a copy of OBS Studio (most recommended), or some other streaming software if you have a preference. You will need a way to feed direct audio into the software. Some controllers and mixers will send audio directly to the computer, but otherwise, you will need an audio interface. There are many tutorials on YouTube that can walk you through the process step by step.

Where can I get graphics for my stream?

There are lots of sites that have free and premium graphics you can use. PlaceIt, Nerd or Die, and OWN3D are just a few. Look up Gael LEVEL on YouTube for links to his graphics and tutorials on how to use them. Also feel free to reach out if you need assistance with graphics.

I hear Twitch streamers get muted like other platforms. Is this true?

Not exactly. Platforms like Facebook & Instagram (and sometimes YouTube) will mute and/or end your stream if it detects copyrighted content. Twitch doesn’t work that way. You will not be muted or shut down while you are live. After you have completed your stream, the saved copy of your stream (called Video On Demand, or VODs) will be analyzed and muted if songs in the algorithm are detected. You can turn the option off in the settings of your Twitch account to avoid this if you’d like. If you want a recording of your set, just record it locally.

I don’t think I can commit to a regular schedule, but would still like to stream with ADJC on occasion. Is that possible?

Absolutely! While it is recommended to have a regular schedule for the sake of consistency with your audience, we have a few DJs that will stream one-off sets here and there. Just make sure to select the slot you want on the calendar early enough so it can be added to the daily flyers.

Is it ok to use WI-Fi to stream?

While it will connect, Wi-Fi is NOT recommended because it is an unstable signal and you WILL get drop outs and buffering. We highly recommend a wired ethernet connection, which will maintain a stable connection.

Can I use Restream or something similar to stream to other platforms at the same time?

If your channel has Affiliate status, then unfortunately, no. Because of Twitch rules, affiliates are not allowed to multi-stream.

I am unable to stream at my scheduled time this week. What should I do?

If you are unable to make yourself available for your slot on any given day/week, make sure to go to the calendar and remove your slot for that day. This will prevent us from promoting your slot for that day when you won’t actually be playing.
